World diabetes day is just around the corner on Monday 14 November. The International Diabetes Federation�s key theme this year is �Eyes on Diabetes� and the focus is on screening for type 2. This is particularly important since early diagnosis can lead to effectively reducing serious risks to health. One in two adults with diabetes is undiagnosed and clearly this is a very significant figure. With this in mind, International Radiology Centre is playing its part to promote awareness. Our role here regards the screening of people in our communities who could have diabetes, but are not aware and those of us who have been diagnosed and need to carry out a check.
